As I watch more and more mortgages go into foreclosure and probably
more lending institutions to follow I know in my heart that living independent of
those pressures is what we all really need.Let me explain how I correlate the two seemingly different subjects.Being tied to any big corporation whether it
is a mortgage company or an electric utility is not in the best interests of
and American.I am not a conspiracy theorist;
I don’t believe that corporations are evil.But I do know that the pressure for increasing profits can make even the
best people make bad decisions.We as
Americans need to learn to fend for ourselves and not get trapped by businesses
and governments who don’t necessarily have our best interests at heart.
The news of the day is a proposed bailout of Fanny Mae and
Freddy Mack.I believe for many reasons
the proposed bill is a huge mistake and will only come to hurt taxpayers more
than we are already being hurt by raising energy costs and the costs of basic
necessities.We have allowed ourselves
to become entrapped by the “American dream” and will all have to pay the piper
sooner or later.Sooner is my choice, I learned
about ten years ago that credit card companies really are evil.They prey on the desires of people to keep up
with the Joneses.I learned my lesson
and haven’t had a credit card for over ten years now and believe me it hasn’t
always been easy but it sure has been rewarding.
When you don’t have creditors on you back to pay the hefty
price of interest or pay for things that you probably didn’t need to begin with
life is little bit easier.When you don’t
have to worry about living paycheck to paycheck just to make those payments you
can relax and actually budget your money.You never truly know freedom until you have financial freedom.Living off of the grid is one more big way to
gain not only your freedom from increasing energy costs but from a never ending
supply of monthly bills.
If you have read anything else on this site then you realize
that I am struggling with how to make the differences not only in my life but
to help other people also make the changes in their lives that will help us
all.I would like this site to become
the avenue for change that we all so desperately need.I want this site to be able to give the gift
of energy independence to people of the world.I know that the only way it will happen is if we are all willing to work
together to make it happen.We need
clean air and fewer imports or foreign goods including oil, but if the cost is
that we are all still tied to mega corporations that begin to monopolize clean
energy we don’t need them that badly.
We need grassroots energy independence for individuals.We need people who are willing to get
themselves out of debt and take control of their own lives.We need people who are willing to pave the
way for others to follow.We don’t need
people telling us how we should live our lives while continuing to be
irresponsible with the way they live theirs.I hope to map out a plan for this plan in the next couple of weeks and
hope that anyone who reads this will simply comment and add your voice to the
